Overview

In its current form, Values-based Safety Leadership (or VBSL for short) is the culmination of two decades of safely leadership workshops designed and delivered primarily in the energy sector.  Most of our participants have been very good at the “Task” and technical sides of their work but have been weaker in the “People” aspect of their work.  VBSL provides the people skills “toolbox” needed for safe and efficient operations. 

I have worked with Rob for several years and have found him to be first rate professional with the heart and mind of a teacher. His insightful and thoughtful approach coupled with his passion for training has helped us establish an outstanding Values Based Leadership Training that will endure for years to come.

 I have been working with Rob since 2021 as part of a core group to develop and roll-out a Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) training program. In starting this work, we interviewed different consultants to see who would be best to partner with in a ‘train the trainer’ type experience.  Through every step of our journey, Rob has carefully guided the core team  working on this project. Through a series of thoughtful and compelling workshops, together we created a curriculum to share with our company and our  vendor partners – we’re proud to call it our Values Based Safety Leadership (VBSL) program.
